Trend Bible Kids Lifestyle Spring Summer 2017
As specialists in forecasting for the Kids Lifestyle market, we continually monitor and track the use of colour used within the home, on toys and kids’ products. As we reflect on our forecasts for the Autumn Winter 2016/17 and Spring Summer 2017 seasons, we examine how colour has evolved over the course of the year in kids interiors.

Colour direction for Spring Summer 2016 took inspiration from tropical brights, featuring punchy pinks and exotic green shades. For Spring Summer 2017 tropical influences take on a fresh approach. Soft candy pinks and pastel peach tones are balanced with sea greens and blue to reflect a laid-back beachy mood.

Pale peppermint and pastel blues were key colours for 2016, creating a fresh summer palette. For Spring Summer 2017, pastels are used alongside more sophisticated, dusty shades giving a newness for children and baby products. Spice coral and dark slate add a richness to the palette giving it a distinctly desert-like feel.

For Spring Summer 2016 woodland references were softened using pretty pastel shades. For Spring Summer 2017 forest foliage inspires a mixture of deep and fresh greens. Pairing them with dusty yellows and dark purples works equally well for girl and boy interiors.
