The summer 2018 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, took place August 12-15 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, attracting attendees from all 50 states and nearly 70 countries worldwide. The show has quickly become the leading global platform for showcasing gift categories, with a focus on local New York design talent as well as the global design community.
While the show is massive and wildly diverse, three macro highlight trends stood out this year: Portability, Human Touch, and The Integrated Self. Many products were multi-functional and serviced on-the-go lifestyles. We saw an increase in glass and resin and new colour experimentations in ceramics. With innovation in technology and emerging trends in mindfulness both at the forefront, we saw category opportunities in personalised gifting and wellness.
