In addition to forecasting, it’s important to carefully track and monitor in-season trends as they emerge in store. This past month, our Trend Analysts have been in stores across London and New York, documenting what major retailers have on offer for Easter 2016.
This season, large scale chicks and rabbits appeared on baskets, packaging and gift & greetings. These characterful designs offered a fun and contemporary way of illustrating the usual Easter animals.
Retailers also injected more humour and playfulness into the occasion with egg puns and smiling faces, as seen at Hotel Chocolat, Harrods and John Lewis.
“There was a real sense of fun & nostalgia with chocolate gift products this year, with many retailers offering chocolate versions of our favourite egg dishes and bright yellow egg yolk splattered across product” explained Trend Bible Trend Analyst Hannah Matthews.
Our In Season Retail Reports provide you with valuable knowledge of the trends your competitors are adopting, as well as providing a source of inspiration. Staying on top of design trends, as they emerge in store, is an essential part of understanding and developing your own product ranges for the following year.
We send the bespoke trend reports out to different departments in our organisation from product development to digital and customer teams. The report acts as internal inspiration that everyone can read and get something from. The feedback we get is overwhelmingly positive.
