Two years ago we predicted four key trends for Spring Summer 2016 in our Home & Interiors Trend Book. Now as we move into the season, we spot how our forecasts are emerging in both UK and US retailers. Following our recent post about the floral explosion of Impressionist, here we take a look at Tropical Oasis.

Think a remote, distant location with touches of luxury design. Designed to soothe the mind and rejuvenate the soul, this trend embraces an escapist spirit and taps into a desire to power down. Exotic prints, a rich palette and natural texture are combined to create this serene trend.

This jungle oasis subtly integrates 1960’s references. Micro geometrics contrast and complement the natural, leaf inspired patterns, shown in bedding by H&M Home. Glossy ceramics at John Lewis incorporate pattern and colour to create a retro elegance.

Touches of warm metallics, including brass and gold, bring an understated glamour to the natural references of this trend. Tropical fruit and intricate surface design create statement accessories while outdoor textiles and woven products add depth and rawness.
