Salone del Mobile. Milano

Joining the three hundred thousand people flocking to Milan Design Week, the Trend Bible team will be heading to one of the most influential home and interiors trade shows of the year, Salone del Mobile Milano.

The event sets a standard for design, showcasing collections from reputable brands and emerging design talent. Influencing the trends for the years ahead, the show not only affirms our forecasts but allows us to stay up to date with new concepts and innovations that may sculpt future Trend Bible insights.

Here’s our preview of the key designers we’ll be looking out for at the show and around Milan.

SaloneSatellite: New Design Talent at Salone del Mobile

Salone del Mobile. Milano

Firstly, we are really looking forward to Salone Satellite; the international event in the design world dedicated to the under-35s. This part of the show focuses on new up and coming designers and has become an unrivalled place to interface with manufacturers, talent scouts and the most promising young designers. It serves as a launch pad into the world of design with many prototypes featured in previous editions going into production.

Google Presents ‘A Space for Being’ at Spazio Maiocchi

Spazio Maiocchi

Google will be presenting ‘A Space for Being’ at the show following its debut exhibition Softwear in 2018. The exhibition will explore the field of neuroaesthetics and how different aesthetic experiences have the potential to impact our biology and wellbeing. Each room will be unique in design, build and furnishings. ‘A Space for Being’ will be on view at Spazio Maiocchi from April 9- 14.

Rossana Orlandi: Guiltless Plastic

Finally, renowned curator Rossana Orlandi exhibits RO Plastic – Master’s Pieces at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e delle Technologia Leonardo da Vinci. On display in the Railway Pavilion, will be 27 new recycled plastic works made by world-famous artists, designers and architects.

The ‘GuiltlessPlastic‘ project also promotes the ‘Ro Plastic Prize’, an international competition of projects, prototypes and works, conceived and made of recycled and mostly recyclable plastic and other materials. The Ro Plastic Prize wishes to unite the design community in the challenge to move beyond plastic pollution as we know it today and to promote the next generation of design.

Whether you are working 3 or 18 months ahead of a season, all our trend books are available in eBook format, perfect for tracking trends on the move at trade shows and events.

We were impressed with the quality of the individual coaching. Not obtrusive or interfering, but genuinely steering the team to target objective.
