Recently, the team at Trend Bible downed tools and enjoyed an inspiring, interactive day out of the office. The chance to participate in creative and fun activities was welcomed by everyone, giving us all the opportunity to interact with each other out of the studio and especially with the recent additions to our growing Trend Bible team.
“Corporate away days of old were all about improving the team’s ability to work together, but our agenda at Trend Bible is much more about just bonding as a team and getting the chance to chat with colleagues we don’t get to see a lot of in our usual working week. It’s only one day a year but we feel the lasting effects of it for months, it’s something we all look forward to.” Joanna Feeley, Founder and CEO, Trend Bible.
As a new marketing intern at Trend Bible, joining our team away day really gave me the opportunity to interact with members of the team I hadn’t worked with before. The creative tasks proved to be a great way to get to know everyone’s personalities. Here are a few of my highlights from our day.
The Pottery Experience
Our first activity of the day allowed us to get experimental. We selected our chosen pot, cup, bowl or plate and were then unleashed with an array of paints with free creative reign to design our own masterpieces. Amidst laughter, chatter and plenty of Pinterest references the team’s creative talent was evidenced through beautiful use of colour combinations, patterns and illustration.
Learning how to use the pottery wheel we were encouraged to get our hands messy and step outside the comfort zone of our everyday roles. Teasing and shaping pots from the clay, we had the fulfilling experience of watching our creations grow from nothing. It’s safe to say we are very eager to return to The Pottery Experience in Jesmond and see our finished pots out of the kiln.
“We work as hard on creating the right culture at Trend Bible as we do on running the business, and you can tell – visitors to our studio always comment on the special atmosphere. We have a hugely engaged, thriving team who love working together.” Joanna Feeley, Founder and CEO, Trend Bible.
Game of Trends
The weather was on our side in the afternoon when we went to Jesmond Dene for a picnic and games. Our ravenous team tucked into an impressive spread of crisps, dips, pizza and a truly show-stopping pavlova. Following our picnic, our Trend Bible knowledge was well and truly tested as we split into pairs and competed in Jo’s challenging quiz.
Our inner child was then unleashed with the introduction of frisbee, tennis and inflatable games! Physical activity was welcomed by all our team – our competitive sides and our unique sporting talents revealed as the Trend Bible ultimate frisbee team was born.
Trend Bible has a strong company culture and taking part in the team away day really made me feel part of it. The team has a strong bond which is evident both in work and outside of the office. Knowing your team members on a personal level as well as in a work environment definitely plays a massive role in creating that close connection. Returning back to work, I definitely feel my relationship with the Trend Bible team has been enriched.
You can see more highlights of the day in our video on our Instagram feed. If you’re interested in working with us visit our ‘Join Us’ page for our latest vacancies, or follow our Instagram hashtag #LifeatTrendBible to see what a day in the life of a Trend Bible team member looks like.
We send the bespoke trend reports out to different departments in our organisation from product development to digital and customer teams. The report acts as internal inspiration that everyone can read and get something from. The feedback we get is overwhelmingly positive.
